This is the twenty seventh painting of the series. The artist has painted the samadhi of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was a strong believer in Shri Rama. The artist wants to emphasise the importance of teaching of Shri Rama on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi ji has said “Though my reason and heart long ago realized the highest attribute and name of God as Truth, I recognize Truth by the name of Rama. In the darkest hour of my trial, that one name has saved me and is still saving me. It may be the association of childhood; it may be the fascination that Tulsidas has wrought on me”. Gandhi uttered ‘Hey Rama’ before he died. The artist has painted a goat with Mahatma Gandhi because he preferred goat milk; Gandhi loved and took care of all the animals in his ashram. It is like when we water the root of a plant, every part of the plant gets nourished. In the same way when we love God, our love extends to every part of God, which is in every heart and in every living being. In this painting the artist has depicted a common man paying homage to the father of nation. He is wearing a woollen cap and white dress with white shawl. The man has bowed head, closed eyes and folded hand in deep respect. The samadhi is made of white marble with “Hey Rama” written in golden colour effect in black.
