The artist has painted a Shri Rama devotee shop keeper; so he has set up his shop near a Rama temple. It is a small shop and is full of items related to Shri Rama. There are many books on Shri Rama like Ramanuj, Ramganga, Ramayana, Shridhi Rama etc. The shop keeper has ensured that all necessary article for performing the puja of Shri Rama is available in his shop like coconuts, dhoops (incense buds), sandal wood pieces, conch shells, small stone Shiva lingas, red kumkum powder, and packets of small round sugar candies. Beaded strings with lockets are also sold in his shop. A cat is relaxing in the top of the shed. The shop keeper is deeply engrossed in reading Rama charita manas. The Rama bhakt shopkeeper, in midst of crowd is enjoying the perfect solitude. For him environment is not able to touch the inner peace and happiness of being with Shri Rama. The highest happiness of man lies in being ever ready in desiring to learn, the more a person improves himself, the more he will be able to elevate others around him. Reading, repeating and thinking of Shri Rama in prayers and affirmation with deep concentration, the shop keeper is in connection with the ever-present blessings of Shri Rama. Even Gandhiji said that if Ramnam comes from the heart “In that event, Rama nama could become an effective remedy against all ailments. A man who believes in Rama name would not make a fetish of the body but would regard it as a means of serving God. And for making it into a fit instrument for that purpose, Rama nama is the soverergn means. To install Ramanama is heart requires infinite patience. It might even take ages. But the effort is worthwhile; Ram nama cannot come from the heart unless one has cultivated the virtue of truth, honesty and purity within and without”.
